This cultivar, which was introduced in 1989, blooms from January to March for an average of 70 days. This cultivar produces approximately twelve fruits each cluster.
BALABHADRA
The Balabhadra is an Early flowering (Dec-Feb) cultivar with nuts weighing approximately 7.4 g per. This variety yields an average of 2.0 t/ha (10.0 kg/tree) of nuts. This cultivar has a high shelling percentage of approximately 30%.
JHARGRAM-1
The Jhargram-1 is a subset of T.No.16, which was first collected at Bapatla. It was introduced in 1989 and has a medium-density canopy with dense branches. It contains an average of six nuts per cluster and produces about 8.5 kilogrammes per tree. The nuts are of a tiny size. This cultivar has a shelling percentage of approximately 30%.
JHARGRAM-2
The Jhargram-2 is a selection from the West Bengal Regional Research Station’s H-2/15 seedling plantation. This variety has a midseason flowering behaviour with 3-4 fruits per panicle. This variety has an average nut weight of 9.2g, a kernel weight of 2.85g, and a shelling percentage of 32%.
VENGURLA-1
The Vengurla-1 is a selection from the Ansur village, Vengurla Tehsil, Maharashtra-collected germplasm. The average proportion of flawless flowers for this cultivar, which was introduced in 1974, is approximately 8%. The average production per tree for Vengurla-1 is approximately 19 kg. This cultivar has a nut weight of approximately 6.2g and a shelling percentage of 31.
VENGURLA-8
The Vengurla-8 is a hybrid Cashew Nut cultivar introduced in 2001. This cultivar produces roughly 15-20 kilogrammes per tree. The Vengurla-8 contains around 86 nuts per kilogramme. The apple variety is red, and the juice recovery is 85%.
BALLI-2
1999 saw the development and release of the Balli-2 variety by the ICAR Research Complex in Goa. This is the first cashew type to be produced in Goa. The average output of Balli-2 is 7.0 kg per tree, with nuts weighing approximately 7.6 g and a shelling percentage of 30%.
TISWADI-3
