TMV 1

The TMV 1 variety of Black Gram is the result of a hybrid between Midhi Ulundu and KM 1. This cultivar was first introduced in 1979. This cultivar matures in approximately 65-70 days. When watered, the grain yield of TMV 1 is approximately 800 kg/ha. This type is resistant to YMV and root rot, according to reports.

VAMBAN 1

In 1987, the Vamban 1 type of Black Gram was introduced. This variety takes approximately 60-65 days to mature after transplanting. This variety’s grain production is around 780 kg/ha when rainfed and 900 kg/ha when irrigated. The Vamban 1 cultivar has a good yield and is resistant to YMV.

APK 1

MDU 1

In 2014, the MDU 1 variation of Black Gram was introduced. This variety reaches maturity approximately 70 or 75 days after planting. When irrigated, this cultivar produces approximately 790 kg/ha of grain. The MDU 1 cultivar is resistant to leaf crinkle virus and has a high yield.

KKM 1

In 2017, the KKM 1 variation of Black Gram was introduced. This variety reaches maturity approximately 65 or 70 days after planting. This variety’s grain output is approximately 607 kg/ha (rice fallow). The KKM 1 cultivar has a high yield and is resistant to YMV and powdery mildew to a considerable degree. Additionally, it is ideal for rice fallow.
