These chickpeas are resistant to wilting and their seeds are brown and wrinkled. This export type of chickpeas has an average yield of 19 to 20 q/ha.

PUSA 391

This cultivar of chickpeas was introduced in 1997. The Pusa 391 cultivar matures between 110 and 120 days after being transplanted. This kind of chickpeas is distinguished by its dark and light brown seeds. This type of chickpeas yields an average of 17-18 q/ha.

BGD 72

The BGD 72 was introduced in 1999 and is another type of chickpeas exported from India. This cultivar matures between 135 and 140 days after transplantation. The BGD 72 cultivar is resistant to wilt and root rot, and its seeds are notoriously large. This variety yields an average of 25 to 30 q/ha.

GUJARAT GRAM 1

In 1999, the Gujarat Gram 1 was released. This kind of chickpeas requires approximately 105 to 110 days to mature. In general, these chickpeas are resistant to wilting. The average yield of this chickpea cultivar is between 17 and 22 q/ha.

ICCC 32

GNG 663 (VARDAN)

1995 saw the release of the GNG 63. This variety is known as Vardan as well. This cultivar of chickpeas requires approximately 150-155 days to reach maturity. This variety is resistant to wilt and is also tolerant of Ascochyta blight; its average yield is 22 to 25 q/ha.

KARNA CHANA (CSG 8962)

1997 saw the release of the Karna Chana. Also known as CSG 8962, this variety matures between 140 and 147 days after planting. This cultivar is reportedly suitable for salt-affected regions. The average yield of this chickpea cultivar is between 22 and 25 q/ha.
